I've been working on the next set of prints for my Traveler's series, which has taken an initial down turn. In the first set I was focused on how travel creates connections, and brings a certain importance to even mundane events. In this new set of pieces I've been focusing on the effect of constant travel on the traveler. There seems to be a point where a person becomes like a ghost, disconnected because they never settle in one spot long enough.
Of course, my hope is to find some resolution through the series. This first image that I've decided to include in the series came to me while looking at maps. I started filling in the grids, and then jumped to Tetris. I thought about the shapes representing events in a person's life, and how sometimes you end up creating holes which stop you from connecting tiles. All the while history moves away from you. Locked.
